CARA INSTALL PRINTER EPSON L100 DI UBUNTU 12.04 LTS
Pada Ubuntu 12.04 printer Epson L100 pada saat di colokan ke USB langsung dikenali sama Ubuntu 12.04 dan langsung diinstallkan drivernya, tapi sayangnya tidak bisa pakai ngeprint, karena printer hanya diam saja. Untuk mengatasi masalah ini lakukan langkah-langkah berikut:
1. Buka system settings > Printers
Di hapus dulu printer yang terdeteksi dengan pilih -
2. Buka browser, navigasi ke http://localhost:631
Pilih tab Administration
Pilih Add Printer
Masukan username dan password anda
Pada Local Printers pilih Epson L100 > Continue
Continue
Pada modem pilih Epson Stylus NX100 > Add Printer
Silahkan dikonfigurasi sesuai keinginan anda > Set Default Options
3. Selesai, silahkan dicoba buat ngeprint

Epson L200 is a low cost multi-function device which is good for bulk printing. It offers Printing/Scanning and Copying. A similar model L100 is a stand along printer.
Note: This printer is a pain to get it working on Ubuntu, or Linux as it is not officially supported by Epson on Linux. If you are a Linux user, I would advice you not to buy this printer.
STEP 1
Download the printer driver.
For 32-bit systems, the file is:
epson-inkjet-printer-n10-nx127_1.0.1-1lsb3.2_i386.deb
For 64-bit systems, the file is:
epson-inkjet-printer-n10-nx127_1.0.1-1lsb3.2_amd64.deb
It will require some LSB files which it should download on its own.
Now reboot your system and plug on USB, your printer will get auto-detected and it will install the driver. You will not be able to print yet !
STEP 2
On your browser, type localhost:631 this will bring up cups front end where you need to change a few things.
STEP 3
Click on printers tab on the right, select L200 under Queue Name, you will see two drop down menus.
STEP 4
Select Maintenance in the first one and Modify Printer, Now select the printer and say continue.
STEP 5
It would show Make Generic and Current Driver Generic ESC/P Dot Matrix
STEP 6
Click on Select Another Make/Manufacturer
STEP 7
Select Epson and Click on Continue
STEP 8
Now Select Epson Stylus N10 N11 Series
STEP 9
Now click on the Link below that says Modify Printer
STEP 10
Now if you print a test page you should see it printed.
Additional Steps: To install the scanner, This is for L200.
STEP 1
Download these files :
iscan_2.29.1-5~usb0.1.ltdl7_i386.deb --> 32-bit system
iscan_2.29.1-5~usb0.1.ltdl7_amd64.deb --> 64-bit system
iscan-data_1.22.0-1_all.deb (for 32 and 64-bit system)
STEP 2
Install them and now you can scan from Any application like SimpleScan or use the ImageScan application installed.
